on climbing the social ladder, many people start from ground zero. then, how much further can we climb in one lifetime, before we fall and realize we're of the flesh?

"time and tide wait for no man" i learnt in primary school. very sound advice given by my form teacher when i was about 7 years old. so in the difference between time and tide, what would one say is his biggest accomplishment? success, family, respect, wealth, health are all facets of fortune. perhaps it's logical to say all these come with achieved heights of the social ladder.

status aside, we laugh and cry like children would, wishing again for child-like innocence and impartiality. thinking of times gone by, we realize, with wisdom, how much experience we've gained thoughout the years. i've learnt much this year, taking a break from academia.

and as october has started, the year is beginning to end. 3 more months till 2005 and a 2nd, if not 3rd or 4th chance at life itself. what have you achieved?
