with 61% of my hall being singaporean, it's a bit difficult to 'mix' with other cultures. of late, the japanese have been providing much entertainment and amusement. their graciousness, politeness and patience always make me cringe when i see the singaporeans rush to the dessert stand when it is being brought out. oh, the utter horror.
i do not like japanese cutesy girls and gunguro girls with fancyschmancy striped socks and platforms that would numb my toes if they were to trample on my feet. neither do they. so we have mutual understanding. on the other hand, their simplicity and multitude of traditions and ceremonies intrigue me - they had tea under the cherry blossoms in front of my hall to celebrate the arrival of spring.
however, i still miss my germanics from last semester.
