packing is a notoriously irritating task. but then, there are also different aspects of packing which can be fun - for a holiday, ticking things off your checklist, finally zipping up your damn backpack and so on. however, it is more complicating when it is not for a holiday but because you live in more than one place.
the routine of filtering and buying then filtering again what to pack seems very similar to one's personality - which aspect you want your friends on the other side to see and what you want to leave behind. perhaps our onion-selves are physically manifested in this simple yet tedious favour we do for ourselves.
upon opening your suitcase, it's like a time/travel (or both) capsule of and from home.
but i guess for now, less philosophising and more manual labour.
