when you look into a person's room, it's "supposed" to reflect their personality. pictures, posters, bedsheets, wardrobe, books. every aspect seemingly is a representative of their interests, past times, school or work. then the mess (or lack of it) a euphemism for a chaotic personality or a domestice, docile one.

i miss my old room back in singapore and what it represented. my room in perth is rather one of practicality and utility. there aren't any trinkets or colourful posters as eye candy, no heaps of cds by my bedside, nor are there my PILES and STACKS of books, books, books (both read and unread). and my big colourful polka dot box which contains my precious cameras and pictures!!

instead - shelves piled with utilitarian uni reading + unit readers + dictionaries, some perfumes and earrings, my portable cd sleeve thingamajig, skinny wardrobe for my clothes, laundry basket and a few pictures stuck furtively on the 2 whitewashed walls - the other 2 "walls" are huge-ass windows. and as a reminder, my luggage hidden above the wardrobe.

decorate it, i hear you say? well, to spend money on something temporary seems quite futile to me. oh dear, where has that idealist from the last post gone to?

Smile.
