me and joycelyn

ok. added lots of pictures(prom, bali, clubbing, outings), so you guys can check them out. aiye.

the weekend's pretty boring. awaiting the phantom menace in about an hour and a half's time. what a dreary day.

in the twinkling of an eye, another week has gone by. oh yes. here's how my bali trip went:

day one:
landed at denpasar. was picked up by the hotel chauffering service. had lunch. slept in the evening and walked to kuta beach from our private hotel beach.

hmm.. they were having some ceremonial thingie and i wasn't too sure what was going on. seemed like some traditional marriage ritual or something. nonetheless, took a picture or two, since being a tourist entitled me to be swakoo in a foreign land. shopped a bit. love the mooks stores there.

saw a famous kuta sunset.

day 2:

went to kuta square and the many shops surrounding the area. oh my. shopper's paradise. bought tons of stuff. had an aromatherapy massage in the evening at the hotel spa villiage. my masseuse was super nice. very pleased that the balinese did speak english fluently. it was nice to be able to communicate with foreign people and learn about their way of life. hmm..reminds me of my trip to japan where even the sales girls/managers don't speak a word of english. aiye.
soaking in the tub drinking my ginger tea was damn shiok.

day 3:
barong dance
took a private tour. saw the traditional barong dance and then took a 2h drive to the mountainous side of bali.

saw the layered padi fields up in the mountains. we were about 1km above sea level, and our ears could feel the pressure. many handicraft stores lined the road up to the volcano viewing gallery. alas, the weather was against us, as it starting to drizzle.

there was much fog which partially blocked our view of the volcano which had a lake at the foot of it. really nice. went back to the hotel and then went to swim at kuta beach. wah. the waters were really clear and the sand was super soft and fine. very unlike singaporean waters. they were surprisingly shallow as well. it was fun to watch the locals surf and basically, enjoy themselves.

day4:
airport
at sq lounge

prepared to fly back to singapore. bali is one place that i have to go back again. i swear. i've never felt so welcomed and enjoyed myself so much. hopefully, i'll be back soon with my friends. then we can learn surfing together or something.
byebye bali

terrorism hasn't phased the locals one bit, from selling tshirts they say "fuck terrorism!", to talking about the bombing rather easily. the whole island is sunny and it only rains in the night to reveal a clear blue sky the following day. humidity, i did hate though, as we were near the sea. plenty of caucasians roam the streets in their beachwear. and by beachwear, i mean just bikinis and boardshorts. the ladies just wore their bikini tops with sarongs/shorts, and the lads went around in only shorts. very laid back atmosphere, which i miss now.

oh yes. kenny enlisted on friday.

we had a sending off dinner for him at marche then trooped down to sos. we wanted to go to zouk, but thanks to champ's suggestion, we headed to sos instead. ah well. 'twas really empty, but i reckon everyone did have a good time, boogie-ing and bumbouncing off everyone else. personally, i did enjoy myself. more parties coming up, so i've heard. ah well. my wallet is thinning.

sulkyfaces.

i also stayed over at balota's place on thursday. oh my. had fun shopping, eating and playing crash bandicoot. i believe i had beginner's luck before min yuan and rach's experience outshone my luck. phooey. helped rach pack for bangkok. played with her 2 new cats - tails and nara. what i love about rach's house is that it's constantly stocked with food glorious food. hahahaha..and it's near places like town and holland v. goddamnit.

oh yes. only 1/2h left to STAR WARS.

Smile.
