the beauty of language, besides (mis)communication, would probably have to be the tone one takes to speak. language as a medium not only partially expresses how we feel and think, but has the capability to convey fear, anger, joy, mischief even if one is saying the opposite of how he sounds.

it's time not only to open the ears, but the heart.

anne and i took a day trip up north of perth to new norcia, australia's only monastic town. apart from the fact that it wasn't as impressive(which i expected, really) in terms of architecture, the pictures in the museum, of aborigines dressed in western clothing, assumedly 'working hand in hand' with the missionaries were eyebrow-raising to say the least. hohum.

at least we saw one monk. all decked out in his black robes.

mine and anne's trip to New Norcia..(for some weird reason, i can't seem to align the captions below the pictures..so they'll have to be above them now..)
