and marielle's taking a train up from France! all we need is our mr Germany.
i am totally psyched.
and now, the week in pictures..
catching up with shaun and liang.
a rainy day out at vivocity..
dvd night with shoobs..
bumming at pitch black..
a short coffee break with amanda..
highlight of the week: dinner with the canoeists!
due to everyone's separate and busy schedules, outings with the canoeists aren't always frequent (especially for me as i spend a grand total of two months back home). nonetheless, it's such a warm feeling when everyone does make time, save for one or two black sheep. conversation mishmash-ed with english, singlish and mandarin over dinner never fails to keep flowing. the taunts, the laughter and the memories of the good ol' training days overspill into the discourse of updating each other about our individual lives.
everyone is doing their individual race - no longer bonded by the common goal of victory, each life has gone in its own direction. this makes canoeist reunions so fun and nostalgic when we actually do meet up. it's perhaps the closest i'll come to understanding national service. afterall, rain or shine, we did go through blood, sweat and tears together.
and believe you me, i think we have all "woken up our idea(s)".
