the week in pictures.

zy and her band performing at multicultural week in uni..
zy and her biggest fans.
despite my lack of funds, i trotted down to the Perth Royal Show which is an annual event mainly for farmers to show off, exchange and buy their livestock and what not. in today's context, it could be the dullest thing ever, but what with capitalism and commodification, it sells itself as a funfair.

i'm rather cynical about funfairs and this was no different, albeit i could see the enjoyment on kiddies' faces, and the sheer amount of consumption in buying showbags, overly priced food and lacklustre games. the show, to me, seemed to thrive on tradition and child-like amusement. perhaps things i've misplaced. furthermore, i'm quite humji (scaredy cat) when it comes to rides so on the ground my two feet stayed.

so why go there?? just for the experience. i've been trying to live up my last few months in Perth and the bank account proves it.
