i've been down with a high fever since last sunday...so here are some pics of better, healthier times..

visiting peishan all the way at ntu..

wet day at holland v...singapore, rather.
helping mum with christmas deco shopping..
just for fun.
buying durians from our trusty neighbourhood mama shop!
when everyone was at zoukout, we were at st. james..hurhur
colourful.
gimme nuts!!!

minus me.

we couldn't get enough of it.
such glee.
so happy together..
my tourist shot at the taka christmas tree.
finally, we two meet in singapore!
happening haji lane..
me and aik bee textile co.: peas in a pod
free ice cream and drinks at pluck!
not quite getting it..
much better
so i've just been bumming around at home, chasing my temperature away. only my runny nose and itchy throat remain, thankfully. it's the last weekend before christmas and i can't really be bothered to head out anyway. i realise my patience is constantly tested when it comes to navigating the ironically wide and spacious boulevards along orchard: people sms-ing while walking or teenagers zig zagging their way through the crowds. where is the system/structure/rules (that we're so known for) in our walking mannerisms?!

oh. i think i've told a lot of people this incident, but since i'm in a light-hearted mood..

one day at tangs, i overheard a housewife tell her posse:

"i couldn't sleep last night!! i toasted and turned for hours!!"

and she said it with such vigour and seriousness i had to give in to the growing smirk, playing at the corner of my lips.

the week in pictures.

zy and her band performing at multicultural week in uni..
zy and her biggest fans.
despite my lack of funds, i trotted down to the Perth Royal Show which is an annual event mainly for farmers to show off, exchange and buy their livestock and what not. in today's context, it could be the dullest thing ever, but what with capitalism and commodification, it sells itself as a funfair.

i'm rather cynical about funfairs and this was no different, albeit i could see the enjoyment on kiddies' faces, and the sheer amount of consumption in buying showbags, overly priced food and lacklustre games. the show, to me, seemed to thrive on tradition and child-like amusement. perhaps things i've misplaced. furthermore, i'm quite humji (scaredy cat) when it comes to rides so on the ground my two feet stayed.

so why go there?? just for the experience. i've been trying to live up my last few months in Perth and the bank account proves it.

a bull, i think.
people who were looking at the bull.
piglet.
retz and zy.
obligatory tourist pose.
trying to blend in.
corn on the cob. one of the things i enjoyed.
greetings, said the ferris wheel.
brangelina has yet to meet retzy.
come fly with me.
mug shot.
terror in the skies.
australian patriotism.
rides that i had no desire for.
"bovinity divinity" huh?
kiss my (shiny metal) ass!
horses with lights. i was very tickled.
line up line up.
fireworks. ok, this i enjoyed.

an SUV is really the thing to inspire you to read Ulysses.
just because it's so engaging..
the perfect companion at a construction site.
because the love of bubble tea is worth spreading.
Auds and i do Freo!
view of Scarborough from her apartment.
bumming on the beach.
the sand, oh the sand.
checking out a group of surf skiiers.
sun, sand, sea.
we were too ambitious to attempt finish a 1000 piece jigsaw in 20mins.
KTV competition. Ms Luo.
voting for the most entertaining singer. pfft.
quality time with zy in the dressing room.
the end.
