what cryptic code resides in human behaviour that we deem it "body language"? the wiggle of one's nose or the clicking of tongues to drumming of fingers. all tell tale signs, predictions, signs we set off to warn others of our temperaments? perhaps.
because language will never really be accurate or pure. discrepencies lie in different experiences, times, events, places and most importantly, in people. because emotions will never accurately transcend beyond the feeling itself, language will only be a medium, an aid to help bridge the gap between the intangible and verbal understanding.
maybe that's why phrases like "action speaks louder than words" and "a picture paints a thousand words" exist. because sometimes it takes more than language and a vast vocabulary to help someone see the bigger picture. we are all artists in our own way, with our own individual art forms. when we try to let someone see our perspective, we paint or write or act out wonderful, marvellous - or horrible analogies to help him see better, hopefully progressing to the understanding of our viewpoint(s).
when we meet new people, we should be blank canvases and not be tainted by what other people have previously painted.
