friendships are a real fun thing. they can either pull you up or drag you down. dad once told me if you can count the number of true friends you have with just one hand, it will suffice. somehow, i never forgot that word of advice, mostly because i'm more introverted and tend not to be a social butterfly. thus, it didn't matter that i didn't have a whole lot of (fair weathered)friends. phew.
but those that have stayed close to me all this while, i really do treasure, albeit i'm quite hush-hush about it. when i think back, secondary school was the most fun time of my life. i miss it. a few things i miss about plmgss..
1. friends - oh boy. it'd be hard to name everyone, but i liked my sec3/4 class, except for someone my close friends will know. hurhurhur. but of all, i miss gen and aletheia most.
2. purple bowl mee - damn shiok. prices are always fluctuating depend on which auntie charges you. kanina.
3. funky rules - low socks. tight belt. short hair. $3 uneven hair cuts. name tag. buttoning up the first button. hairband. no multiple piercings (i always got caught for this one). short nails.
4. the toilets - they have nice long benches. how not to use it for a long time? furthermore, all the paintings made it quite homey. and the abundancy of toilet paper. hawhaw.
5. chapel - aka free period!!! sleeping time. i deemed the pastor my walking sleeping pill. and we'd always get scolded for not bringing our (free) bibles and song books. pfft.
6. the while belt - ok la. i used to think it was quite ugly. but i got used to it. it's supposed to symbolize a ring of purity. aka chastity belt. hawhaw.
7. the morning assembly talks - they'd get really pissed at us and "teach" us how to dispose off our sanitary pads. whooot. beat that for public humiliation, with the sound reverberating off the hdb blocks nearby. local gossip.
8. silent reading - aka sleeping period before class starts. hated the newsweek reading programme we had though.
9. 35min periods - i miss those. everything was 1h periods in jc. argh!!!
10. chinese lessons - because i never paid attention.
so this was my plmgs life. plmgs students, is school the same? it'd be nice to hear from the "new blood". hawhaw. i guess each person will miss something dear about his/her secondary school days.
i miss the innocence really. i was always quite oblivious to gossip and bitching, unless someone let me in. hawhaw. other than that, i was in my own little fairy utopian world. alright. i still am. but i've grown up to not always trust what people say and not be blinded by my own perception(s) of people.
phew. what a long entry.
