i'm down with the flu. not only does it make you impartial to taste and sound. it throws you off your daily routine. and for a person like that needs to be in control, it annoys the fuck outta me. the whole world seems disorientated, spinning or just plain unfamiliar.

watching trainspotting yesterday was a consolation that my flu didn't make me as wasted as them druggies. of course. but still, it was a sad show portrayed brilliantly, no?

sometimes we need to numb our senses to be more aware of one's self. we become more aware of our need for attention, or our constant paranoia, or even our bladders that scream for us to empty it. in other words, we listen to our body more. now, when was the last time you did that? most of the time, everyone tells you "mind over matter", thus we assimilate such a mindset that the mind can conquer all, we forget the body and the physical.

only when we're down with the flu (or anything along those lines), do we realize we're only mortal.

nonetheless, that didn't stop me from forgetting to zip my shorts till i got to the bus terminal - a good 30mins from my home. goddammit motherfucker.

Smile.
