There has been much activity here in Amsterdam - uni, gig-going, dinners, coffees, strolling along the canals, biking, having guests over, election party, parties, feasts...
The weekend was spent roadtripping with my ladies to the north of the country - the island of Texel and Groningen. Spontaneously, we went to Urk (a cute small fishing village by the coast) and ended up in Lelystad (modern nondescript city) to look for food in the evening.
We had a little problem in Groningen. Thinking it's winter, that we'd be able to get a hostel without (much) problems, we didn't book anything. However, we spent 2.5h looking, calling, driving around Groningen and on the outskirts as well, because everything within the city was fully booked! Thanks to some university happening and the Latin Dance Festival, we later found out. Pfffffttt..... In the end, we managed to find a quaint little hotel in the country for 35euro's each - inclusive of breakfast. So, we relished in the privacy and the extravagant breakfast the next morning.....
