i watched my new french vcd today "the taste of others". oh my. initially it started off quite insipidly, but alas, the 2nd disc got better. i've learnt that the little things you do actually have a purpose. like one the chauffer was playing the flute HORRIBLY, but in the ending sequence, it showed him playing in part of a marching band thing..so yeah, he improved and eventually, his little part turned out to be an important one coz he had to keep time. hmm..
i like watching french movies. i prefer them to hollywood, really. unless there's some really action packed thing la, then i bo bian will watch the hollywood stuff. but these european directors and storylines are more..well..educational? to a certain extent. to me, at least, it kinda grounds me and also reassures me. no matter how weird one can be, there's always a place or person, or activity that will help balance your quirkiness. afterall, everyone is entitled to their indiosyncracies. i especially like films around the world war era. sigh. hahahaha..the czech one i caught during the film festival was brilliant. i swear. i wanna buy the vcd when it get released or something. next on the list : tanguy
