oh my, ticktock goes the clock and as much as i tried to put that annoying reminder at the back of my head, the luggage is packed, the passport is lying on the table and i'm almost set for leaving - again. the emotional baggage can give my check-in luggage a run for its money in weight.
i've tried to make the past two weeks as fruitful as possible - family, friends and food. there's nothing like the simple things such as coming home to a hot meal, being able to find 24h food places and walking alone safely at night. surrounded by the familiar, it is always hard to get over that initial inertia. for me, at least.
shuttling between perth, singapore and amsterdam this year has been quite a challenge. but alas, i'm glad i did it.
some parting shots:
while waiting for the bus at Ang Mo Kio station..
my walk along Rochor road i think..
Sungei road market!!
tong zi men...
barbie bodies, anyone?
canal?
haji lane..
blue evening sky..
while waiting at the traffic light..

goodbye,

i then went to FOAM, my favourite photography museum in amsterdam, because i wanted to see

buxy, the house cat. he's even got his own postcard.

bedroom 1..
leisure room..
bedroom 2..
and then it started raining cats and dogs. of course, i got caught and carried on cycling for 15mins before reaching the apartment. thank goodness for the gas heater.
today: with nicky to the stedelijk museum and oudekerk.

"hey, it's my colour!"
at the oudekerk, amsterdam's oldest monument (c. 1250) for the world press photo exhibition.

i have to clean, pack, wash, vacuum, yadayadayada before thomas and i move out of our apartment tomorrow morning. it's been a cool 5 months in amsterdam. there's so much to love and miss about this city. living here has opened my eyes to much more and while showing me the reason for protecting western values and culture, has also shown me how western capitalism and individualism has resulted in a youth, soaked in boredom. yeah, even with that many things to see and do.
our living area, with the nadal-federer roland garros match on tv.
before packing: (most of) thomas's collection of classical music; entrance to our kitchen..
the rest of the apartment..
so this is my russian visa! terribly excited.
